Debriefing

"Without a good debriefing, you’ve missed the point of a project. Debriefing connects the dots for participants ..."

After the exhibition we connected the mental dots at Schlappeseppel.

Cranach Exhibition: Thank you all!

Several students from two English courses - one from Düker, Laufach and one from m-real, Stockstadt met yesterday evening to visit the Cranach exhibition in Aschaffenburg. After an introduction about the historical background and the persons involved we had a quick look at some of the paintings. Then partner groups selected their favourite painting each and had a good close look at it.
I would like to congratulate every single one of you - you did really well - and came up with some remarkable comments!

Thank you for yesterday evening......

I want to thank Ellen for this interesting excursion yesterday in Cranach. I wish you have splendid holidays and a safe trip.

I had to tell you one thing: my meeting yesterday in Kindergarten was a big success for me, because of the money we will take in from Sommerfest we will spend to my niece Desiree to India. She volunteers her time in an orphanage in Pune – there are children where parents have no money to grow them up. It is really sad. But I am happy that the rest of the “Elternbeirat” agreed to use the money for this. So it was important in this case and not only talk about bratwurst and brötchen and all the staff.

I wish you all a nice weekend ……

Reservation for Thursday after Cranach

Hey Guys,

I made a reservation for the "Schlappeseppel" - 8.00 p.m. for 10 persons under my name (but not queen of the night-events - my real name).

Have fun there - I can not go because of my meeting in the kindergarten. Sorry but we will look for something in the summerhole.

Enjoying a cup of Indian tea

A special morning thanks to Desiree!

... and Heike, who suggested and arranged the visit
... and all of the participants who brought some goodies

How to wrap a sari

How to adjust for walking and moving about

The sari is not the kind of garment, like a t-shirt, that you put on and wear all day and forget about it. Draped clothing is about constant adjustment and movement. But this is the charm of it. The pallu is made to be swept around back and front, tucked in at the waist when you're working, opened up and thrown over the shoulders like a shawl, or covering the head and neck and arms against the hot sun. The sari is a dance of fabric.

Focus India

Thank you, Desiree!
We had a most interesting session today with the focus on India. Heike's niece Desiree, who has been living in India for some time now, visited our course and reported about her experiences and the problems in day-to-day life. Although India is an exciting country, most of us concluded that we wouldn't want to live in this country of extremes.

A special highlight was Andrea in a sari. Desiree arranged Ellen's sari and Andrea looked just like a beautiful Indian lady.

Visit from my "indien" relative

Very important date: Monday the 14st of May we will have a tudor which is talking about india and the cultural and personel problems. I think this will be very interesting for us and I hope that we will be complete. We are looking for a donation of cake.

I would suggest two dates for the exhibition: 10th of May or 24th of May or the last possible 31st of May? What is the best for you. We can talk on Monday about it.
